LOGISTICS GUIDE / 03
Information needed to quote CNC freight
A model number and two cities are rarely enough. Freight planning depends on verified cargo, facility and route information.
Machine data
Provide make, model, overall shipping dimensions, weight, number of pieces, centre-of-gravity or lifting information when available, and photographs.
Origin conditions
Include exact location, dock or grade access, door dimensions, floor restrictions, loading equipment, rigging scope, appointment limits and target pickup date.
Preparation state
Confirm whether fluids are removed, components are secured, accessories are packed, exposed surfaces are protected and the load is ready for the selected mode.
Destination scope
State the final city or port, delivery terms, unloading responsibility, site access and whether the request ends at port, terminal or facility.
Special constraints
Identify oversize dimensions, hazardous residues, temperature sensitivity, unusual value, border or documentation requirements and any schedule dependencies.
